Highlands Blackbird Original Mixed Media Painting

Blackbirds are considered guides between the worlds of the living and the dead, which is perhaps why this wistful young woman seeks comfort, and hopeful news, from her companion. An original mixed media portrait on a thick Khadi cotton rag paper, with a lovely deckled edge. The substrate is highly absorbent which causes the paint to take on a very pleasing matt quality, which in turn makes the portrait seem almost antique. Size approx. 21cm x 15cm.
